How to Use Two-Factor Authentication on Telegram

 A telegram is a popular group messaging app that has gained popularity in recent months because of its robust privacy and encryption features.

Telegram asks your mobile number for verification purposes when you get started with it for the right time. Apart from this setup process, it has not any other login process. But one thing that it allows you to use is its two-factor authentication system to get enhanced security on an account.   

You might have used two-step verification where you get a text message with a code on your phone to provide access to any digital service. A Google Authenticator app also works in the same way. However, you can’t expect these things with Telegram. The next step is to use a password. Using a password is better compared to not having any security on your Telegram account.  Steps to enable two-step verification on Telegram

As you know, your account is linked with your mobile number, and you get a one-time password on your phone when you need to login on to a new device. In addition to it, you can also set a password through two-factor authentication. You will need to use both while logging in to your account. Moreover, follow the below steps to enable two-factor authentication. 

• 

• First, launch the Telegram app on your device.
• You will see the Hamburger menu on the left side. You have to click on it. 
• Under the hamburger menu, find and click on the Settings option.
• When you hit on Settings, you will see many options. Out of all, you have to choose Privacy and Security.
• Under Privacy and Security, find an option called Two-Step Verification. Once you find it, you have to click on it. 
• Now hit on Set Password.
• Decide on a strong password, type it in the box. 
• After entering the password, you will need to confirm it. 
• If you want to add a hint for the password you have set, you can do the same. 
• Here you will be asked to add a recovery email ID. A recovery email helps when you don’t remember your account password and want to create a new one. In that case, the recovery email will receive a code to reset the password. So, you should add it. 
• After adding the email, you will receive a confirmation code on that email. Use this code to connect your email address with your account. 
• That’s all you need to do to enable two-factor authentication. Now click on Return to Settings to complete the setup.
